KJV : After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
YLT : After these things and this truth, come hath Sennacherib king of Asshur, yea, he cometh in to Judah, and encampeth against the cities of the bulwarks, and saith to rend them unto himself.

ERVEN : After all these things that Hezekiah had faithfully done happened, King Sennacherib of Assyria came to attack the country of Judah. Sennacherib and his army camped outside the fortresses. He did this so that he could make plans to defeat these towns. Sennacherib wanted to win them for himself.

MOV : അവൻ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു, ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോയ മതിലൊക്കെയും പണിതു, ഗോപുരങ്ങളും പുറത്തു വേറൊരു മതിലും കെട്ടിപ്പൊക്കി. ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിലെ മില്ലോവിന്റെ കേടും പോക്കി, അനവധി കുന്തവും പരിചയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.
KJV : Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised [it] up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo [in] the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.

ERVEN : Hezekiah made Jerusalem stronger. This is how he did it: He rebuilt all the parts of the wall that were broken down. He also built towers on the wall. He also built another wall outside the first wall. He rebuilt the strong places on the east side of the old part of Jerusalem. He made many weapons and shields.

ERVEN : Hezekiah chose officers of war to be in charge of the people. He met with these officers at the open place near the city gate. He talked to the officers and encouraged them. He said, "Be strong and brave. Don't be afraid or worry about the king of Assyria or the large army with him. There is a greater power with us than the king of Assyria has with him!

ERVEN : King Sennacherib of Assyria and all his army were camped near the town of Lachish so that they could defeat it. Then Sennacherib sent his officers to King Hezekiah of Judah and to all the people of Judah in Jerusalem. His officers had a message for Hezekiah and all the people in Jerusalem.

MOV : നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മെ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും എന്നു യെഹിസ്കീയാവു പറഞ്ഞു വിശപ്പും ദാഹവുംകൊണ്ടു ചാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ വശീകരിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?
KJV : Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
YLT : `Is not Hezekiah persuading you, to give you up to die by famine, and by thirst, saying, Jehovah our God doth deliver us from the hand of the king of Asshur?
RV : Doth not Hezekiah persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
RSV : Is not Hezekiah misleading you, that he may give you over to die by famine and by thirst, when he tells you, "The LORD our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria"?

ERVEN : Hezekiah is fooling you. You are being tricked into staying in Jerusalem so that you will die from hunger and thirst. Hezekiah says to you, "The Lord our God will save us from the king of Assyria."

ERVEN : Hezekiah himself took away the Lord's high places and altars. He told you people of Judah and Jerusalem that you must worship and burn incense on only one altar.

MOV : ഞാനും എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അതതു ദേശങ്ങളിലെ സകലജാതികളോടും എന്തു ചെയ്തുവെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ആ ദേശങ്ങളിലെ ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാർക്കു തങ്ങളുടെ ദേശങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞുവോ?
KJV : Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of [other] lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?
YLT : `Do ye not know what I have done -- I and my fathers -- to all peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands at all able to deliver their land out of my hand?
RV : Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands any ways able to deliver their land out of mine hand?
RSV : Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

ERVEN : Of course, you know what my ancestors and I have done to all the peoples in other countries. The gods of the other countries could not save their people. Those gods could not stop me from destroying their people.

MOV : എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ നിർമ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ജാതിയുടെ സകലദേവന്മാരിലുംവെച്ചു ഒരുവന്നും തന്റെ ജനത്തെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതിരിക്കെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമോ?
KJV : Who [was there] among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?
YLT : Who among all the gods of these nations whom my fathers have devoted to destruction [is] he who hath been able to deliver his people out of my hand, that your God is able to deliver you out of my hand?

ERVEN : My ancestors destroyed those countries. There is no god that can stop me from destroying his people. So you think your god can save you from me?

MOV : ആകയാൽ യെഹിസ്കീയാവു നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കരുതു; ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളെ വശീകരിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കയും അരുതു; യാതൊരു ജാതിയുടെയോ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെയോ ദേവന്നും തന്റെ ജനത്തെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും വിടുവിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; പിന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ?
KJV : Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?
YLT : `And, now, let not Hezekiah lift you up, nor persuade you thus, nor give credence to him, for no god of any nation and kingdom is able to deliver his people from my hand, and from the hand of my fathers: also, surely your God doth not deliver you from my hand!`

ERVEN : Don't let Hezekiah fool you or trick you. Don't believe him because no god of any nation or kingdom has ever been able to keep his people safe from me or my ancestors. Don't think your god can stop me from destroying you.'"

KJV : And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

ERVEN : Hezekiah died and was buried with his ancestors. The people buried him on the hill where the graves of David's ancestors are. All the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem gave honor to Hezekiah when he died. Hezekiah's son Manasseh became the new king in his place.
